 SLES is an anionic surfactant, and it is used to produce shampoos, soaps, and toothpaste due to its emulsifying and cleansing properties. SLES uses hand-washing and laundry detergents. Also, it is used in carpet cleaners and cleansers.

Mono ethylene glycol (MEG) is a colorless, slightly viscous liquid with a sweet taste and virtually no odor. It is also known as 1,2-ethanediol or 1,2-Dihydroxyethane.

MEG is mainly used as a raw material in the manufacture of polyester fibers and in antifreeze formulations. It is also used in the production of PET bottles and polyester resins.


MEG is miscible with water, alcohols, aldehydes, and many organic compounds. It will not dissolve rubber, cellulose acetate, or heavy vegetable and petroleum oils.

MEG is also used as a solvent in custom formulations of paints, dyes, inks, and other blended products.

MDC is non-flammable. However, it can cause headaches, nausea, fatigue, dizziness, lightheadedness, and unconsciousness. If exposed to MDC, you should remove the person from exposure and flush eyes with large amounts of water for at least 30 minutes.

Isopropyl alcohol is mixed with water for use as a rubbing-alcohol antiseptic. It is also used in aftershave lotions, hand lotions, and other cosmetics. In industry it is used as an inexpensive solvent for cosmetics, drugs, shellacs, and gums, as well as for denaturing ethanol
